Description
Garapa is a species of wood grown in South America and makes for an exceptional economical choice for outdoor applications, such as decking or siding. Its gold to tan coloring naturally weathers to a lovely silver-gray over time, unless a UV protectorate is applied, and it has a natural propensity to resist rot. The hardness is about 40% of Ipe, but still much harder than many domestic species and carries the same fire ratings.
Garapa Wood Decking – Attractive Color & Price
A Garapa deck is durable over time, resistant to rot, decay, splinters, and scratches, without chemical treatments. Its golden color, fine grain, density, and moderate cost make it an excellent alternate to more expensive tropical decking products such as Teak or Ipe.
